Company names

These were the possible company names we were going to have as our company, but after doing are presentation and asking our class mates which they believed was the best we came to a decision that the last one 'Thriller Productions' was the best one to use.

History of Thrillers

The Information is from Lauren Parker's blogger who is another member of our group

Tuesday, 3 December 2013

The two of these are plans for storyboards for our film we have done it like this so you can see what is happening in both situations at the same time, they go on simultaneously

· 1) It would start off with (number 5) which is actually the end so we would start it off with a non-linear plot, this is a flash back but the audience wouldn't know this at this point. So the mise-en-scene would be in school hallway where he's stood at a door blocking the exit she's facing the other way he walks up to her it’s an over the shoulder shot from her front, so you can see her expressions but can also see a blurred figure walking towards he, then it switches from that to an over the shoulder of the him but you don't see his face all you see is a bit of his shoulder a gun, then a gun going off. (music playing)

· 2) It would start off with a swipe up transition an establishing shot of him in bed so you get to see where he is , the mise-en-scene of this scene is a bedroom, masculine bedroom dark cause it's night with phone next to him, no sound just silence. (number 1 in bed) (music fades)

· 3) Then it would go to (number 1 in the hallway) where he’s walking after her as she's running there’d be no dialogue except him saying 'stop'. When he screams stop it, it blurs and flashes and then it would go back to him in this bed (music stops) it would then start craning up to the ceiling and the phone rings and wakes up to the phone ringing, it would crane down fast to the phone then zoom in on the phone, it would ring a few times then you hear "Hello Steven, Steven, It's urgent are you awake, its Caroline, I know it's late but we need you, call me back when you get this". (number 2)

· 4) Then to (number 3 in his bedroom) and this is where he will be just answering the phone and then a flash and it flashes back to the flashback (number 3) where she's walking and the lights are off and the camera angle is an over the shoulder shot of her walking, slowly to show that she is scared. (music stops) Then it flashes and all you can hear is her saying 'Hello Steven, you there, Steven?’ then it then it goes back to (number 4) where he’s answered the phone and he’s looking in to space and you hear once again ‘Steven?’ and a close up of him snapping out of it and him going ‘yeah I’m here, what do you want’ she replies saying ‘we need you, we need your help, I know you’re retired and after the last time, you swore you were done, but this is important’ he replies with ‘to who you, the agency, yes you are right I told you I’m done’.

· 5) Then it flashes back to (number four in the hallway) where he's stood there blocking the door way, she's trapped, at this point all you see is her back/shoulder and him standing in the way of the door. (music playing)

· 6) Then to (number 5 in the hallway) the man pulls out his gun she turns around, camera shot goes to a shot an over the shoulder shot of him but you don't see his face all you see is a bit of his shoulder a gun, then a gun going off, then you see her drop to the floor him turn around and then he turns around and takes of his mask and this is where the audience see's that it's Steven who is the killer.(music playing)

· 7) Then it flashes back to (number 5 in his bedroom) with him sat there and you hear through the phone 'Steven?' then you here a gunshot go off which is in his head, he kind of just 'comes back in the room' and then he hangs up in shock and says 'I can’t go back' (music playing) then it comes up with a black screen and the title of the film will come with something around the lines of these, as we haven't decided are title yet

Avengers

Watching the Avengers intro and I came across this motion tracking effect which is a close up of the side of the face and depth of field and rule of thirds to add effect, I would like to put it in our thriller intro. I think it would be effective if we could put it in as also it will show that I have some knowledge on how to edit videos, and will give us more marks in the long run.

This is me trying to do sort out motion tracking when doing research and planning, because I plan to use it in my groups piece, because I think it will be really effective, with what we plan to do in our final piece. It is tricky and took me a while to get a grasp of  how to use it but after using a few lessons trying it out I believe it may be impractical to do it to the standard where it doesn't look amateur.

I have a few ideas for my AS Course already, I will blog them later on in to my course, when some of my techniques grow and I get a real incite of what I am capable of and what is possible with the equipment we have available to us and what is not.
